Can you sign it this way?

The other person does not need an account, an app or a printer

The question that stops most first sends is whether the customer, the tenant or the client will have to sign up for something. They will not. A signer opens a private link, reads, agrees to sign electronically, signs, and is finished. No account, no password, no app, no printer, no scanner. Here is what they actually see, step by step, and why the signature is still tied to them.

What the signer sees

  • An email or a text from Signathing that names you and the document, with a button to open it
  • The document, in their browser, on a phone or a computer
  • A consent step: a plain statement that they agree to sign electronically, which they accept before any field unlocks
  • The fields assigned to them, highlighted: a signature they draw or type, initials, a date, a checkbox, a text answer, a file to attach
  • A finish button, then a confirmation that their part is done
  • The certified PDF, delivered to the same email or number when everyone has signed

How the signature is still tied to them

The link is private to that signer and sent to the email address or mobile number you entered. Opening it, consenting and signing are recorded with the time and the device. The record shows that someone with control of that address or number signed, which is the same footing an account would give, without asking them to create one.

When that is not enough, add an access code you arrange with the signer separately, and the document does not open without it.

What the sender needs

A free account, which takes about fifteen seconds: your email or mobile number and the six-digit code we send there. No password to create. From there you upload a PDF or photograph paper, place the fields, add the signers, and send.

The copy they keep

Every signer receives the completed, certified PDF: the document with every field filled, a certificate listing each signer with the time and device, a fingerprint of the original, a digital seal, and a verification code beside each signature that anyone can check at signathing.com/verify. They do not need an account to keep it or to verify it.

Common questions

Does the signer need an email address?
An email address or a mobile number, either one. With only a number, the link, the reminders and the certified copy arrive by text.
Can they sign on an older phone?
Yes. The signing page is an ordinary web page. Anything with a browser works.
What if they forward the link to someone else?
The record shows the device and time of every open. For documents where that matters, add an access code so the link is useless without it.
Can they sign without a printer or scanner?
Yes. There is no printing or scanning at any step, for the signer or the sender.
Can they sign in person on my device?
Yes. Tap Sign here now and hand over your phone or tablet. They sign with you present and still receive their own certified copy.
