A free alternative to the paid e-signature platforms

The major e-signature platforms are good software. They are also priced per user per month, and most of their plans cap how many documents you can send before the price goes up. Signathing is free, with no document cap and no signer cap, because it is funded by the paid business tools AllContraX sells to contractors rather than by the signing itself.

Why it is actually free

This is the question everyone asks, and it deserves a straight answer. Signathing is operated by AllContraX LLC, which makes money selling business tools to contractors: websites, an AI receptionist, and a Pro plan. Signing is the thing AllContraX itself runs on, and opening it to everyone costs almost nothing extra.

So there is no per-document fee waiting for you at some usage threshold, and no free tier designed to become painful. If that ever changes, the honest thing would be to say so loudly rather than quietly metering people, and that is the intent.

What you should still weigh

The paid platforms have been around far longer, and that matters for some buyers. They carry deeper enterprise integrations, formal compliance certifications, bulk send workflows, and in-person signing hardware. If your business needs a signed SOC 2 report or a Salesforce integration, buy the thing that has one.

Signathing is built for the far more common case: a small business that needs a contract signed today, wants a certified copy afterward, and does not want to think about a subscription.

Common questions

Is Signathing really free?
Yes. Unlimited documents, unlimited signers, no trial period, and no card to start. It is funded by the paid business tools AllContraX sells, not by charging for signatures.
Do my signers need an account?
No. Each signer gets a private link by email or text and signs from any device without creating anything.
Is the signature legally binding?
Electronic signatures are given the same legal effect as handwritten ones in most US transactions under the federal E-SIGN Act and state versions of UETA. Our page on that covers what the law says and the categories it excludes.
Can I check a signature later?
Yes, and so can anyone else you show it to. Every signature is stamped with a verification code that can be checked at signathing.com/verify without an account. The check shows who signed, which document, and when. It never exposes the file itself.
